I come from some conservative roots and attended Philadelphia Bibical University, the Institute of Jewish Studies, and Seminary of the East. So I know the concerns of the entertainment movement within the church. And though my programs are very entertaining, I take the Word of God and the Great commission seriously, and do a large number of “outreach events”. Some pastors want a fun night where the unsaved, or “presaved” can see that Christians can really have fun and plant a seed. Others want a harvest event, where the salvation plan is clearly given and an altar call is made… and I am very comfortable in doing both.

Many people will come to a comedy night at a church who will not come to a concert or to hear a preacher.

*** Many times I will do a Saturday evening event at a church and stay over and preach the following morning. We have seen God use these events to draw many folks to the church for the comedy show, and once there many do come back .

For Sunday Mornings… I usually share a 10 minute comedy sampler, that relates to the message, and then get into the exposition of God’s Word.

Other programs include Pastor or Staff Appreciation Nights, Church anniversary, Family Nights, and Fundraisers for Mission trips or the building program. ( we have a whole tab on putting FUN into FUNDRAISING )

I don’t often tell folks that I was a youth pastor for over 15 years and a senior pastor for over 10. You tell folks a comedian is coming and they respond very differently then telling them Rev. Douglas is coming. Once into the program… as I weave my life story into my comedy, it comes out very naturally and effectively.
