Back to the day to day grind.

It was a short week filled with landscaping, sun burn and work; can’t get away for long without phone calls from the office. I really never seem to take vacation time, just time away from the office. This year wasn’t too bad apart from the lack of money to really do anything. These pay cuts are really starting to cause issues for us financially, if the company doesn’t bounce back soon, I may be forced to look for employment elsewhere. This is not something I want to do; I have a good thing going here and it could be a great thing with a couple more IT people on my team… and of course the pay not being cut/ frozen. I’m going to hang in for a bit longer, but I’m not going to be turning down anymore of these phone calls I get from head hunter groups. If something comes my way, at this point I’d be a fool not to explore my options.

Here we are once again, just prior to vacation. I know I never update this website, but with Facebook being todays main source of online communication, who looks at ‘home pages’ anymore.

Come the second week of August I will take a week off to rest, let me tell you, it is needed. This year has had it’s share of rough days from a super tight budget that I can’t wait for the company to ‘bounce back’, if it ever does. In the mean time we move on, day by day, paycheck by paycheck. Some months aren’t that bad, others I feel really bad that we can’t go out and do all the things we’d like to do. I’m fully confident things will get worked out, either by the company healing, or ultimately my moving on to a better position with a company that is not in financial turmoil.

Still, for now, day by day.

It is indeed Friday, one more week till my vacation. I haven’t really taken a vacation in almost five years or so. I mean I’ll take a single day off here and there, go to the beach for a day or what have you, but I haven’t taken a block of days off in what seems like forever. Every time I save up the time off something always happens or the days are needed. This year so far I took a week off to move, not what I call vacation. Last year ended up getting filled with single days needed off for various reasons. Two years back included my four day hospital visit; let me tell you, THAT is a way to spend your vacation days. Well, this year I am taking off from the 22nd through to the 4th, minus having to come in on the 28th. The plan was to have that day off as well, a solid two weeks off, but we are moving an office and I will need to come in for a day to move all the servers and get the new place up and running.

Needless to say this time period will be filled with some much needed rest.

One more week.

Ok, the site is done. It’s simple, people can find me. It’s functional and provides me a place to blog about things that may be more relevant to what I want the general populous to know I care about. Photos and what not will be kept with social networking. If you know me and really want to get a hold of me, if you are looking for more information than is available here, there is a multitude of links right on the front page for you to reach me. Also, below the content of this site there are a few small icons; these icons are a link the the writer of the original theme that I have modified to my liking, a link to WordPress, then a link to email me. Beyond these are my RSS feed as well as a log in link in case you wish to register a user name on this site to make comments.
