Why have a website?
It seems with the popularity of Web 2.0 and social networking, people don’t seem to have their own web sites any more. The term ‘home page’ has become obsolete in lieu of myspace and facebook. As you can see from my sidebar, facebook has caught on in my home as well, it’s actually far easier to tell friends and family to look you up on facebook than to give then a url.
I haven’t decided if I think this is a good thing or a bad thing, privacy concerns aside. I used to really enjoy toying with my website, changing it, re-writing it every few months, now it just sits here.
I’m going to attempt to intertwine facebook-world with my own personal website. Why? Because I find it more personal. No ‘applications’ and ‘quizzes’; no ‘answer my 40 questions about me because some one sent this 10 year old questionnaire to me’… This is my page, my site, my world. Here you see no ads, you’re not supporting random companies that you would never do business with by viewing their advertisements. If I want to meet Christian singles… I’ll go to Church! If you go to Google and search for my name… you will find me here.
